As a young man, Randy Ruffin was inspired and driven by the music and voices played on the Philadelphia radio airwaves. Randy would sing the songs he liked, and people would stop and hold their breath, telling him how much he sounded like David Ruffin. Randy started to look at and listen to David Ruffin much closer, so much so that he began to pick up David's stage manner and style unconsciously.
Randy has been making a good living singing the hits of David Ruffin at shows and private parties, because that's what people wanted to hear. One night, in a very popular club in South Philly, Randy entered the room, and everyone knew him and greeted him with love and respect. As the night went on, the MC called Randy up to do a few songs, so he agreed and took the stage. Randy had no idea that a popular producer from Society Hill Records, named Butch Ingram, was sitting in the back of the room, watching him from the minute he came through the door.
When Randy stepped onto the stage and sang his songs, Butch Ingram was very surprised by his vocal ability, stage presence, and seasoned command of the audience. At the end of the night, they sat and talked about doing a recording project. Randy Ruffin is now a worldwide recording artist with great things on the horizon, with a full team of industry professionals behind him.
